The once-secret weapon is slated to arrive as a single on Diplo’s tastemaking house/techno label, Higher Ground. Active for over a decade, Adam Ten has established himself as one of the best in the Mediterranean underground, while Maori is one of Israel’s top emerging young talents. Together they combine both their seasoned and fresh perspectives to serve as the cutting edge of the Tel Aviv dance scene. Anchored by a cheeky, sped-up vocal sample and a deep, rolling bassline, “Spring Girl” draws inspiration from the Israeli dance scene, which has its roots in one of the most distinct-sounding genres, psytrance. Subtly calling on buzzing synth stabs to bolster the energy of the tune while keeping the tempo at a moderate pace creates a unique vibe that has connected with dancefloors all over the globe, as demonstrated by tech house titans like Michael Bibi and melodic techno pair Adriatique. For the last 12 years, Adam Ten has shaped and developed his sound to become one of the leading names in the Mediterranean underground. As a resident DJ at The Block, Adam is a regular at Israel’s key clubs while he continues to expand his international presence with performances in Los Angeles, New York City, Milan, Berlin, Barcelona, Mykonos, Cape Town, and more. In 2021 Adam Ten founded Maccabi House, which is where he first linked up with collaborator and friend Maori, signing him to contribute “Asfat Tango” to the label’s All Stars 03 compilation. Maori is one of Tel Aviv’s most promising young talents, with expertise in creating psychedelia-infused productions that apply his deep knowledge of Israel’s trance music scene and merging it with Colombian Afro music and indie dance. On release day 8/25, Adam Ten will be playing alongside Superflu at Avant Gardner’s King Hall in Brooklyn, New York. Maori is in the midst of his first-ever tour through Europe. In addition to gigs at several Tel Aviv clubs, he’s set to appear in Dresden, Malmo, and Copenhagen over the next several weeks.
