In the 1950s, Belgian breeders combined Belgium’s robust Belgian Draft horse with top sport horse bloodlines from across Europe to create the Belgian Warmblood—a powerful yet elegant sport horse. The Belgian warmblood is a medium-weight horse, and typically has strong hindquarters and a compact, muscular body. Their level-headed temperament and athleticism make them perfect for many disciplines, but they are most often seen snagging ribbons in the show jumping ring!
