Violent Protests Rock France Against Pension Reforms As Macron Plays Europe’s Saviour In China

Protests and violence have gripped France while President Emmanuel Macron is trying hard to play Europe’s saviour in China. Hundreds of thousands of angry demonstrators opposing Macron’s controversial pension reforms have taken to the streets. Some protesters vandalised a famous restaurant, bistro La Rotonde, throwing bottles and paint at the police. Demonstrators reportedly also barged into the building that houses BlackRock’s office in Paris on April 6. France’s Interior Ministry deployed nearly 11,500 police officers nationwide, including 4,200 in Paris. The French president is facing a serious decline in popularity back home due to his pension flagship. However, while Macron tries to save Europe by wooing Xi, it remains to be seen how he douses the fire back home. #france #franceprotest #paris #macron Video Credit: AFP/AP 0:00 - Introduction 0:36 - France Burns as Macron Tries to Play Europe’s Saviour in China 2:23 - What is the Pension Reform? 4:16 - Macron’s Image Hit as He Talks Ukraine in China n18oc_world n18oc_crux CRUX is your daily video news guide to the big events that are shaping our world.
