The Children of Tsar Nicolas II: Everyday Life of the Romanovs

For a short while, one of the Hermitage’s largest exhibition halls has been turned into the residence of the Romanov family! A fantasy model of the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoye Selo, where the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II lived, has been installed in the Manege of the Small Hermitage. The ‘rooms’ of this palace contain authentic costumes, toys, furniture and photographs that belonged to the four Grand Duchesses and the Tsesarevich: Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei. The video tells the story of these memorial items and of their young owners.
