Massive Abandoned 1950’s Paper Mill Found In The Middle Of Nowhere. Explore # 110 Arkansas, USA This was the first time filming in the United States. I don’t normally explore and film abandoned industrial buildings. So I was pretty excited to see this massive abandoned place. This place was in the middle of nowhere. This was such a fun explore for me. This building was built in 1956 and operated as Elk Roofing. It was a very successful company until the owner passed away in 1972. The family sold the business. In 1985 the current owners shut down the business and left it abandoned until 1991 when Striker Paper Company bought the building. They renovated the building and operated it until approx. 1999.
