The floods are causing significant damage in Pamplona and throughout Navarra province. The town of Pamplona saw 100 litres per square metre fall, the highest downpour in all of Spain. The overflow of the Arga river has left streets and garages flooded and roads closed. More than a thousand houses were flooded. In some cases floods prevented residents from leaving their homes. The water level in low-lying areas reached up to 2 floors. Railways and power supplies to tens of thousands of homes were cut off. Many drivers were forced to watch their cars turn into boats.
