Caged As A Cub, Bear Steps Outside For First Time In 20 Years 😊| Animals Asia

Moon bear Armstrong was caged as a cub after likely being stolen from his mother in the wild and watched her being killed as she fought to protect him from poachers. He was put in a cage and for the next 20 years suffered repeated bile extraction, the bile was sold for traditional medicine. Animals Asia rescued Armstrong four weeks ago after persuading his owner to hand him over to our care. Watch Armstrong’s historic rescue: After a few weeks in quarantine and building up his physical and mental strength, Armstrong stepped outside in his semi-wild enclosure at our Tam Dao sanctuary. Watch as this brave, beautiful bear sees the vast sky and mountains in front of him for the first time in 20 years.
