The Sweet Apple Scarecrow - Spooky MLP Fanmusic

Just a little piece for Spoopmas. With many thanks to Tyson Andrew Johnson for the use of his poetry, and to Chompy for his masterful voice work. Expect both of these talents to appear again in another Nightmare Night song in the near future! The Nightmare Moon’s in the sky In a lunatic phase. Back at the farm they’ll have candy and caramel, Sweet apple pie while the fillies do crafts, But here in the trees, on your trembling knees, Yes, the shivering breeze brings out demons and bats. Oh! I think I just heard the scarecrow speak. And I have the creepy crawlies Down from my head to feet. Clutch my hat; Remember to watch my back. I know that scarecrow just moved. Stay cool, Applejack. The ravens and rooks on that scarecrow Are looking at me. But I ain’t no corbie; There’s nothing here for me to flee. Big Mac and Granny, The rest of my family, Would laugh at my panic At ponies of straw. “You just had a fright At a bump in the night” But as ravens take flight, well I know what I saw. Oh! I think I just heard the scarecrow speak. And I have the creepy crawlies Down from my head to feet. Clutch my hat; Remember to watch my back. I know that scarecrow just moved. Stay cool, Applejack. I travelled down a winding road that lead to a yellow field- And saw behind a rusty gate, that wasn’t locked or sealed, A scarecrow hung in that yellow field, atop a wooden beam, But things we see-or think we see- are not always as they seem, He was outlined in the autumn sky, with crows who didn’t try to fly- And so curious there was I, I felt I could not blink an eye- For I thought I saw him move, then I thought he moved again, -But coming to my senses, thought it must be just the wind. I saw his face in small detail, and his mouth and eyes and nose, But as I watched-the scarecrow-started talking with those crows… I was sure he was conversing, as black crows to him came near… -But how he turned and looked at me, was not completely clear, As I watched, the crows took flights and were scattered in the air, But when I looked back at that pole, the scarecrow wasn’t there. Oh! I think I just heard the scarecrow speak. And I have the creepy crawlies Down from my head to feet. Clutch my hat; Remember to watch my back. I know that scarecrow just moved. Stay cool, Applejack.
