The Melos - I Don’t Wanna Be [Visualizer]

Brothers Brandon and Louis Borrego met bassist Jacob Moore and drummer Dante Muñoz in March 2022 shortly after Austin’s first SXSW festival in a post-pandemic world. When the four felt immediate and undeniable chemistry in their first session together, they officially formed the band The Melos, which previously had been the moniker for Brandon’s songwriting and recording efforts. Each member brings different influences and musical experience to the creative process. Brandon’s deeply personal and metaphorical songwriting honors that of working-class rockers like Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Money while still maintaining a modern pop sensibility. Louis’s lead guitar style swings pendulum-like from classically jangly tones and rhythms to atmospherically dreamy textures, perfectly complementing his brother’s down-to-earth musical style. The energy that Jacob and Dante bring as a rhythm section drives the performance of each of the band’s songs, amplifying the message and story of each song in a live setting. Both lyrically and musically, The Melos’ music is a reflection of the human experience, capturing the complexities of life and love in an ever-changing world. With a unique blend of introspective lyrics, driving rhythms, soaring guitar lines, and anthemic builds, the band’s music can connect with audiences both on a conscious and an unconscious level. With dynamic and engaging live shows, The Melos are set to make a splash in the Austin music scene and spread the infectious energy that drew them together in the first place.
