The Omicron Variant of Concern

According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, an arm of the European Union, the so-called Omicron variant of Covid has done little harm so far. They say that ‘All cases for which there is available information on severity were either asymptomatic or mild. To date, there have been no severe cases and no deaths reported among these cases.’ Of course, that could change, but predicting the future is a notoriously chancy and uncertain business.
