According to local publications, the authorities were forced to block the A1 highway due to “ice stones“ falling from the sky. In particular, a section of the road between Parma and Fiorenzuola in the direction of Milan was closed for three hours. In footage from social media posted by eyewitnesses, individual hailstones can be seen reaching the size of an apple, almost covering the palm of an adult. The car owners who found themselves on this section of the route, alas, in most cases could not continue their journey. The hail broke the windshields and rear windows of the car and left noticeable dents on all metal surfaces of the cars. Rescue services report that they have already received several hundred appeals from citizens. The
