Soldiers, sailors and nurses are given New Zealand apples, tickets for a sightseeing tour of London, and drinks and buns. They can read Kiwi newspapers and write letters home. Soldiers buy postcards and look at the Houses of Parliament, walk past the Tower of London and feed pigeons in Trafalgar Square.
