Trucker protests: Singh calls on Trudeau to respond to ongoing demonstrations in Ottawa | LIVE
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is holding a media availability on Monday to call on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to provide a plan in the face of the ongoing protests in Ottawa, as the demonstrations enter day 11.
It comes a day after the city of Ottawa declared a state of emergency, giving it the ability to bypass normal procedures in certain situations, and hours after police dismantled one of the logistics camps truckers and their supporters were using to assemble their supply of fuel and materials.
The media availability also comes hours before a court will hear arguments in a proposed multi-million-dollar class-action lawsuit by Ottawa residents who want protesters encamped in their downtown to stop honking their horns.
