Former U.S. President Donald Trump holds a news conference. Donald Trump was ordered by a judge to keep quiet in court on Wednesday after the former president was heard loudly grumbling as a writer who has accused him of sexual abuse testified at his defamation trial. E Jean Carroll was telling the Manhattan court that the man who could be back in the White House next year had shattered her reputation after she accused him of sexual assault. As she gave testimony, Carroll’s lawyer, Shawn Crowley, said Trump could be heard “loudly saying things that are false” as he sat at the defence table.
