Inside the company laundry the women hand over their “weekly wash’ (looks rather small for that) to laundress Beatrice Hedge. She weighs each bag on a set of scales. Margaret Coote and Anne Leak hand their washing in. Several shots of Beatrice putting washing in one of the large washing machines and turning knobs. General views of men and women working in the office - “the office work’s done all the better, now that the girls know the washing’s waiting for them“. Women pick up their washing from Beatrice before they go home. Commentator makes nauseating remark that “If the little wife leave it in the bus, hubby has to wear his vest another week“.
