Looking online gives you a whole host of mixed results with a lot of generalisation about ‘plastic’ as a single material. We decided that we were bored of people using this as an excuse as to why ‘recycling doesn’t work’ and decided to test this out for ourselves. To be super clear about our tests - we’re using recycled HDPE and running it through our machines at 230 degrees celsius. The plastic is only melted for as long as is necessary and doesn’t ever go beyond this temperature.
