This live recording from the Munich Philharmonic Hall at Munich Klaviersommer 1991 demonstrates the brilliant improvisational and technical abilities of Gonzalo Rubalcaba, the Cuban pianist and composer. Accompanied by Jul Barretto, drums, a highly talented young jazz man from Cuba, as well as Felipe Cabrera on bass, Reinaldo Melian on trumpet, this quartet marks one important step in quartet playing in the nineties.
