This 1950s educational film “Measuring Short Distances“ is narrated by Professor Dorothy Montgomery. Montgomery explains the different orders of measurement and how these can be observed. The objects measured in the film get continuously smaller and the footage compares each item to the previous one to demonstrate how the order of magnitude have changed. The footage is mostly of microscopes and what can be seen through them. Finally, there is footage of the atomic structure of an object as seen under a new type of electron microscope.
