Laku Mara (Lord of all…) ലാകു മാറാ…(സകലത്തിന്റെയും നാഥാ…)

Laku Mara (Lord of all…) Resurrection Hymn. This hymn is unique to the East-Syriac rite and is accompanied by the removal of the sanctuary veil, incensing of the sanctuary and the people. It is addressed directly to Isho Mishiha (Jesus Christ). It is sung thrice – first by those on the bema and then by the choir and congregation. In this video, the hymn is sung in East-Syriac (Aramaic) – the language of our Lord Isho Mishiha and the liturgical language of the Mar Thoma Nasranis (Saint Thomas Christians) of India. Catholicos Mar Simon Bar Sabbai (d. 343AD) is credited with composing this hymn and it is also known as the hymn of Adam. [Laku Mara, Syro-Malabar Church, East Syriac Hymn. Translation and Transliteration in both English and Malayalam.]
