I can’t find the Casals quote I was looking for, but here’s the gist. Casals said that when the trio arrived at a new city, he would practice, Cortot would go to a library, and Thibaud would find a bordello. One can see from the pictures when he was younger and, I think, from the way he plays these pieces he was passionate and a ladies’ man.
