OP DE KOFFIE #11 - Lara Rosseel

Lara Rosseel is one of Belgiums finest double bass players. Always grooving and always in service of beauty. She’s a very talented composer too, combining her love for groove with a great sense of harmony, melody and space. There’s a poetic depth to whatever she sets her mind to. Check out her music, it’s worth a serious detour. Lara has meant a lot to me. Both on a personal level as on a musical level, I have learnt a lot from being on her sides. We’re playing an American theme called Cherokee Trail that she learned from playing in the Americana band Old Salt, a beautiful melody that translates very well on the double bass. As a little extra Lara shows that she’s able to play anything she wants. This spanish traditional that we learned as “Panderos“ when we were traveling together in Spain was arranged for pandero quadrado (spanish square drum) by the great Aleix Tobias. I took the challenge of singing the song, please bare in mind that I am not a singer ;-).
