People seem to be speaking but we cannot hear anything during these first general views of the meeting. Natural sound starts and Dr LS Yange, acting Chairman of the Council, reads letters of application for hearing from Greece and Yugoslavia. A man reads a French translation of the letter. Soviet delegate Mr Gromyko makes speech in Russian in favour of Albania being admitted to UNO. Mr Hershel Johnson, the United States delegate, moves that the vote on Albania being adjourned until after the discussion on Albania. Proposal endorsed by United Kingdom delegate Sir Alexander Cadogan, if the application of Mongolia is also to be deferred.
