According to survivors, the victims included women and at least one child. On Thursday, it was reported that the Ocean Viking, a vessel operated by the humanitarian group SOS Mediterranee, picked up 25 survivors from a group that set off from Libya on March 8. The survivors said the boat’s engine gave out after three days, leaving its passengers without food or water.
