Tchaikovsky Trepak from Nutcracker for clarinet ensemble, percussions and trumpets

Dear friends, I’m so happy to play for you this excerpt of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, the famous Trepak ! I always loved this piece, when Clara and the Prince travel to the beautiful Land of Sweets, ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Prince’s place until his return. He recounts for her how he had been saved from the Mouse King by Clara and transformed back into himself. In honor of the young heroine, a celebration of sweets from around the world is produced and all dance for their amusement : chocolate from Spain, coffee from Arabia, tea from China, and here comes our Trepak with the candy canes from Russia ! An aerial, twirling, irresistible fast piece based on a folk song giving you a smile on your face for the rest of the day 😍✨ If you don’t know it yet, I would highly recommend the very good arrangement for clarinet and piano or clarinet quartet written by Alexandre Chabod that I recorded a few years ago for @klarthe_label.
