How to play arcade games (Taito custom chip decap)

Who’s got time to PLAY videogames ? JUST TEAR THEM DOWN and document the CRAP out of them ! Read more ↓ In this video, you’ll see how it is possible for some nerd to have fun with a video game system without even powering it up. You’ll also enjoy the fact that said nerd will consistently keep his cake hole shut during the entire presentation. Two Minute Drill is an arcade football throwing game with video feedback. I got the PCB for cheap because it was untested and totally useless without the 50-ton mechanical rig it normally controls. on the YM2610 because the ’B’ variant isn’t very common. Ran out of acid before getting to its die so comparison with a plain YM2610 will be for later. According to MAME and my own observations: -TC0630FDP is the Taito F3 background layers generator. A gigantic Toshiba channel-less gate array, but only 2 metal layers so not too bad. -TC0400YSC is a communication interface meant to sit between the CPU and the YM2610. A gate array with cells very similar to the AV series from Fujitsu. Guessing it was made by Matsushita (Panasonic nowadays). -TC0510NIO “New Input Output ?“ is an upgrade of the older Taito TC0040IOC I/O chip. Looks quite simple, makes sense knowing what it does. Made by NEC. -TC0260DAR is a palette RAM digital-to-analog converters thing with maybe some layer priority logic. Surprisingly made by Texas Instruments and even more surprisingly big but VERY empty. THANKS FOR PLAYING My throat hurts
