Erdogan has met his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Ankara is determined to strengthen ties with Uzbekistan. In 1992, Turkiye became the first nation to recognise Uzbekistan as an independent nation after the collapse of the Soviet Union. As Erdogan pays a two-day visit, the countries have signed multiple agreements, including one on preferential trade. Turkiye is also the only country with which Uzbekistan has established a high-level strategic cooperation council.
