The articulation of the instruments and the chord voicings are inspired by ranchera music---straight-up, a firme rola! “Your Tender Lips is a cover, originally made famous by The Clovers in 1956. Both sides have a deeply satisfying feeling of unison, given the male and female twin leads that are sung in perfect octaves nearly the entire time. Johnnie Valenzuela passed away in 2022, with his wife of 59 years, vocalist Terrie, surviving him---couple goals! .
