Terrie And Johnnie - Your Tender Lips - [Direct Vinyl Transfer] - Eastside Sound

Donna Records 1365 - Considered to be the final record of The Velveteens’ discography, “I Miss You So“ b/w “Your Tender Lips“ is sung by husband-and-wife vocalist Terri Bonilla and guitarist Johnnie Valenzuela, who had begun performing as a duo with a backing band by 1962/1963. “I Miss You So, “ which is the original song on this flipper, is one of my very favorite Eastside songs. The articulation of the instruments and the chord voicings are inspired by ranchera music---straight-up, a firme rola! “Your Tender Lips is a cover, originally made famous by The Clovers in 1956. Both sides have a deeply satisfying feeling of unison, given the male and female twin leads that are sung in perfect octaves nearly the entire time. Johnnie Valenzuela passed away in 2022, with his wife of 59 years, vocalist Terrie, surviving him---couple goals! . Mr. Valenzuela, and thank you for the beautiful music. *This is a direct vinyl transfer, straight from the platter to the line-in on my Tascam digital recorder, saved as a 24-bit .WAV file, and synced to the video.* Always #Ortofon
