Nerd alert, for reptile aficionados only. These captive lace monitors are very habituated to people and I thought this would be a good opportunity to record their mating activity so others could see typical monitor lizard mating behaviours. This particular female has an obsession with mating on the rug, so when the male is following her watch her do a right angle turn when she reaches the edge of the rug (or, in one instance, comes to a complete halt).
