For the last 30 years, the City of Detroit has witnessed a phoenix rising. From the ashes of a giant comes life renewed. While some may refer to it as a hockey team, it is often called what it deserves to be: A Dynasty. The purest form of stoic excellence, The Detroit Red Wings have endured through it’s successes AND it’s failures. What started as merely an expansion team turned into one of the greatest sports stories for the last century. This organization, this city, and it’s people are bound as one. Year after year, this team continues to exhibit the characteristics of a champion. People come out in droves and get packed into a building that legally isn’t even allowed to be built anymore. They climb the steps, they sit next to each other, they share in the revelry and splendor that is the sport of hockey. They cheer, they scream, they cry, they sing. And all for a winged wheel.
