Nishrinkala Dance Academy presents: Sandhya Raju and Gangadhar Venkat performing Guru Kishore Mosalikanti’s Durga Tharangam Tharangams are the main item in any Kuchipudi Recital. Tharangams are written by Saint Narayana Theertha. This particular tharangam is in praise of Goddes Durga. She is created by Lord Vishnu with the power of the divine three: Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma for the purpose of defeating the mighty demon Mahishasura. Who was bestowed with the boon of being unrivalled and undefeated by any living man or God. Hence a Goddess of unmatched powers was the only answer to defeat and destroy his reign of terror. The dancers dance in praise of her grace, beauty, and spiritual powers.
