The situation in Niger is tense as the military government there refuses to step down, Russia warns the West against intervention, and the military presence of the U.S. and France remains in limbo. Victoria Nuland was left scorned after she was sent as the Biden Admin’s messenger, but was denied a meeting with either the ousted president or Niger’s new acting leader. But the U.S. is not giving up on the West African nation it once touted as a “model of democracy,“ which is home to a $110 MILLION U.S. drone base.
