Steve Vai - The Crying Machine Live Cover

Hey! I’m super stoked to be watching Steve Vai tonight in Zürich. Back when I was 12/13, I used to stick on the ’Live at the Astoria’ DVD and try to copy/play along with the tracks and figure out what was going on. The Crying Machine was one of my favourites! Steve Vai, Dave Weiner, Tony McAlpine, Billy Sheehan and Virgil Donati all totally blew me away and still do to this day! Here’s a one-take playthrough of the track. Weirdly, all of the lead lines up until the solo seemed to come back to me straight away (funny how our brains work eh?). The solo sections on this are just improvisation (with a lot of weird note choices haha).
