December 02, 2021 Manhattan, New York - Police responded to a call of a man at a bus stop near the United Nations building armed with a shotgun and holding a bag.
Officers from the 17th precinct encountered the man just after 10 a.m. this morning near the U.N. building on 42nd Street and First Avenue.
According to police, the man was threatening suicide. Bomb Squad and Bearcat Emergency Service Units were requested to the scene.
Traffic was blocked by NYPD at northbound FDR Drive and 42nd Street, vehicles along the FDR Drive are affected.
