Russia: Aerial footage of enormous tyre dump in Nizhnevartovsk

Subscribe to our channel! A giant tyre dump in Nizhnevartovsk was filmed by a drone on Saturday. According to local reports, the company ’Berezka’ has been unloading the tyres on the landfill illegally since 2001. In 2017 local courts ordered the enterprise to eliminate the dump and also acted to collect 243 million roubles ($3.3 million €2.7 million). However, it is not clear whether the company has yet paid the fine. The Tyumen enterprise ’Ekos’ was planning to remove 30 thousand cubic metres of waste between October 2019 and May 2021. But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic limiting workload, only 3.5 thousand cubic metres were eliminated. First Deputy Director of the regional Department of Subsoil Use and Natural Resources Egor Sbrodov stated that it would possibly take about 5 years to eliminate the dump.
