A true touching love story (CHN/ENG/Pinyin) “Love Song of the West Sea” by Dao Lang - 刀郎《西海情歌》MV

Dao Lang is the stage name of Lin Luo (罗林) , a famous Chinese musician. He wrote this song in 2006 and was based on a true love story of the West Sea. Ying and Yong were both college students and had applied for being volunteers of environment protection. They came to the Tibetan region of Kekexili (Hoh Xil) which is well known as “The Forbidden Zone” for its coldness (negative 40 degrees Celsius) and hypoxia (lack of oxygen). They were placed at different work sites and could only meet periodically. But they loved each other very much. One day, Young died alone during a task and was only 21 years old. He was the first volunteer died in Kekexili. This song was collected in Dao Lang’s 9th album “Dao Lang III” which was published on Sep 21, 2006. It won the “Top 10 Songs of 2010” and became quite popular in 2018.
