Watch Waves Tickle the Ionosphere After The Hunga Tonga-Hunga Haʻapai Eruption
Traveling ionospheric disturbances (ionospheric waves) over New Zealand propagate away from the direction of the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Haʻapai eruption. The waves are seen both positive and negative excursions in the filtered Total Electron Content. They start just after UTC on 15 January 2022 and continue for several hours.
