Amsterdam, the beautiful capital of The Netherlands, is one the biggest tourist destinations in Europe. We visit Amsterdam often here thanks to a nicely walkable center without much car traffic and many streets along the canals to explore. On this rainy summer day we start near the Damrak with a view of Amsterdam Centraal - the train station. We turn around and go through the historic red light district which is home to many bars, restaurants and smaller hotels. We get to the Oude Church (De Oude Kerk) and Beursplein and switch to the western side of Damrak before we get back to the eastern side. We check out many streets in the red light district on our way south to the Nieuwmarkt and National Monument.
