Just wanted to end the year with one last hannibal edit. It’s been such a fun ride, editing this show. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Don’t ask me if this is a Will edit or a Hannigram edit because I’m not clear on that myself. I suppose it’s about Hannibal invading Will’s psyche and seducing him with sexy religious talk. What else. Oh yeah, this: On a more serious note, I’m not sure I’m satisfied with the result. I was trying to focus on how the show depicts divine order through aesthetic, through the design and elegance that always accompany the violence. The logic of retribution and justice that’s just an integral part of who Will is at his core and how Hannibal cultivates that, quite literally tears it out of him. BUT! There’s so much more to unpack here, I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. This will have to do, sadly.
