How Internet and Bitcoin Kill Your Country — And What Will Replace It

I was invited to give this speech at the European Forum Alpbach, from which it was broadcasted live to all of Austria. In it, I show how the printing press and broadcasting media are two examples of how information technologies determine the types of political structures that rule mankind. Eg, before the printing press? You have feudalism and a powerful Catholic Church. After? Nation-states. Then, I talk about a few patterns we can see today from information networks and blockchain that tell us nation-states are ending, and point us in a direction for what’s coming next: automation, wealth concentration, more individual power, more supranational power, more decentralization, more wealth mobility, less taxation, more Special Economic Zones or Charter Cities, better legislation mechanisms, the disappearance of nation-state-endorsed gatekeepers, and more.
