It was made by Seiden Films of New York. (Unconfirmed, but Seiden Films was probably owned by Joseph Seiden, a producer who specialized in making low budget, Yiddish dramas.) The New Process Co. appears to have gone out of business in to a patent infringement suit regarding the bottling systems shown in the film, which the International Cork Company successfully claimed as proprietary. The film shows views of the Golden Dwarf Beverage Co. bottling plant, operated by Hyman Kirsch & Company in Brooklyn, New York. Golden Dwarf produced a celery flavored soda and a ginger ale, as well as a cream soda and possibly other flavors. The film also shows the bottling of NuGrape, a national brand first marketed in 1906. According to a website, Hyman Kirsch learned how to formulate soft drinks as a boy growing up in the Crimea. He eventually immigrated to England, then the United States in 1903, and started a business in 1904. Offices were eventually opened in two locations, 923 Flushing Ave. and 172 Cook St, and boomed after Prohibition took hold. The firm later became known as Kirsch Beverages, Inc, and gained a national reputation after Kirsch marketed some of the first sugar free sodas using sodium cyclamate. At :29, a Mrs Warren and her young son Billy visit the Brooklyn Industrial Exposition, probably in 1923, and sample drinks at the Golden Dwarf refreshment stand. At 2:22, the Hyman Kirsch & Company distribution center is shown, with a truck carrying a giant replica bottle of Golden Dwarf ginger ale shown pulling out. At 3:23, laboratory facilities where flavors are developed. At 3:36, loads of pure sugar are delivered by the American Sugar Refining Company aka Domino Cane Sugar. At 4:18, junior samples sugar from a broken sack. At 5:27 the bottling facility is shown. At 7:25, Billy operates the labeling machine as bottles move past. At 8:14, New Process’ NEPRO Rotary High Pressure machine stamps caps on bottles. At 8:33, the NuGrape assembly / bottling line is shown. At 9:30, the cooling plant, and at 9:50 the stacks of bottle awaiting delivery. At 10:00, Billy rides the conveyor line at the factory. At 11:13, the company fleet of delivery trucks leaves the bottling plant. At 11:50, Billy’s birthday party, featuring of course Golden Dwarf sodas. Grandma tries the cream soda and thinks it is fine.
