Boy, 12, on tracks avoids oncoming train: MTA source

A 12-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after falling onto the tracks at a Brooklyn subway station Tuesday morning, authorities said. The child tripped and fell onto the northbound tracks of the L line at the Metropolitain Avenue-Lorimer Street stop at around 8:30 a.m., according to police and an MTA source. The conductor saw the boy but he couldn’t stop the train in time, the source said.
