Why Fear Is Our Greatest Asset in Unlocking Human Potential | Ramona Pascual | TEDxWanChai

Competitive mixed martial arts is the epitome of surviving, making decisions, and performing under extreme pressure with dire physical consequences. In this talk, professional MMA fighter Ramona Pascual draws on her own journey to self-discovery: from growing up with traditional Chinese-Filipino parents and pursuing an unconventional career to getting lost in a whirlwind of emotions and self-doubt, and finally rediscovering her values and beliefs, and learning how to manage her fears. Ramona Pascual is Hong Kong’s first professional mixed martial arts fighter signed to a regional promotion, Road Fighting Championship. She is also the first female ever to headline a fight event and compete for a mixed martial arts championship title in Hong Kong. She was previously on the Hong Kong Women’s Rugby team and is also an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
