Aubrey Plaza Premieres Her Latest Film, My Old Ass, at Sundance

39-year-old Aubrey Plaza (White Lotus, Parks and Recreation, Dirty Grandpa) goes back in time in her latest film, My Old Ass, which premiered at Sundance last night. Actually, she goes “forward in time,” showing up as the older version of Elliott, played by Maisy Stella (Nashville). The all-in-one teenage love story, contemporary comedy, and quirky riff on time travel follows bright-yet-irreverent Elliott the summer before college as she comes face-to-face with her older self during a mushroom trip. The encounter spurs a funny and heartfelt journey of self-discovery and first love as she prepares to leave her childhood home. Writer-director Megan Park uses the high-concept premise of a visit from one’s future self to launch a refreshing take on the uncertainties of young romance and coming of age. Maddie Ziegler and Kerrice Brooks also star in the film.
