Germany: Protesters pepper sprayed by police during clashes at anti-COVID restrix demonstration

Protesters and police clashed as coronavirus sceptics rallied against regional COVID-19 restrictions, leading to police implementing the use of pepper spray. One participant was seen being arrested by police officers. According to the Saxony Corona Emergency Ordinance, over 500 people attended the demonstration, with local restrictions banning gatherings of over 10 people. The rally took place as a series of related demonstrations were held across the region, including in Bautzen, Gorlitz, Zittau, Weisswasser and Hoyerswerda.
