Sea Otter Holds My Hand and Taps Her Paws #shorts

#seaotter #kpassionate #shorts Watch this clever sea otter show off her trained behaviors by holding my hand and tapping her paws. The reason I trained this sea otter to tap her left and right paws is because sea otters are incredibly intelligent animals and they need constant mental stimulation. Clara is a rescued sea otter who was deemed non-releasable by the NOAA and other wildlife agencies after a series of unsafe interactions with humans and pets. During her rehabilitation, it was discovered that she was pregnant. Clara then became the first sea otter to give birth in captivity. She raised her pup with minimal interactions with humans, which allowed the pup to be successfully released to the wild. It is rescue stories like Clara’s that have inspired me to help the Oregon Coast Aquarium build a new marine wildlife rescue facility. Learn more:
