2019 Trinity Debate Review: Michael Brown vs. Dale Tuggy

Dr. Brown (Jewish Christian) and Dr. Tuggy (“Biblical Unitarian“) debated the topic “Is the Father Alone the True God?“ on January 11, 2019. Here are my thoughts on the debate and why Dr. Brown won so convincingly. Dr. Tuggy set himself up for a bad loss the moment he decided to use the good majority of his pre-prepared rebuttal not even rebutting Michael Brown’s 20 minute opening statement. He talked a lot of Plato, logo theorists and the different roles the Father and Son have, but not presenting counter arguments to all the traditional Trinitarian proof-texts. He claims the proof texts fall short and there are no convincing arguments for the Trinity and yet why did he seem unwilling to address most of Dr. Brown’s arguments? He left most of them alone for a very long time and in some cases waited until the Q&A portion to finally explain them (e.g. John 8:58).
