Aikido blocks/parries against different KICKS, by Stefan Stenudd

Aikido blocks against the kicks maegeri (front kick), ushirogeri (backwards kick), and mawashigeri (roundhouse kick). The blocks are not obstructing the kicks, but leading them on forward, so I guess parries would be a better name for them (as several comments suggest). Therefore, the aikido technique has to start with taisabaki, the evasive movement to the attacker’s side. Immediately after this initial move, the aikido technique is commenced. The blocks are the same in striking attacks. On this video, only the starting movement is shown. Aikido technique applications will come in additional videos. Stefan Stenudd is presently 7 dan Aikikai shihan. The attacker is Tony Johansson, and Mattias Enguis held the camera.
