Fire Dancing Journal Day 072: Fan Dancing Practice

I did 4 run throughs with the first 2.5 minutes of this Jenkee’s track. I really liked some of the moves in this one. I was trying out new things and especially appreciated some of the sharpness of the movements after the song picks up and the fans are “lit“ — in the opening I’m imagining the person spinning before me at a gig (this was planned for) is lighting my fans. At the point when I look over my left shoulder to the stage, I felt this first short bit really worked well with both the tools, my style and the music. Definitely a breakthrough for me in terms of precise expression with the fans. Later in the section where I’m balanced on one leg I found myself also really appreciative of my progress as a dancer because I really felt that show up in this section.
