New Italian - Yugoslav Border (1947)

Unused / unissued footage - dates and locations may be unknown / unclear. New Italian / Yugoslav border at Gorizia. Various shots of Italian troops of the Mantoa Division entering the town of Gorizia, led by a brass band and a flag bearer. Paper is showered from windows and balconies. Streets are decorated with bunting and Italian flags fly from balconies. Various shots of the waving spectators. Crowds of spectators swarm over every vantage point. The population surge forward and join on the end of the procession. United States soldiers march along carrying US stars and stripes flag and an unidentified one - could be Gorizia flag. US (?) Soldiers are seen at the frontier line, looking at a map or paperwork. L/S of US flag flying from a castle or fortress. The flag is slowly lowered and the Italian flag hoisted.
