GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Red Wings () | The Big Guys Deliver

The Penguins headed to Detroit to begin their final regular-season road trip of the season. Evgeni Malkin would return to the lineup to face the Red Wings, after serving the final game of his four-game suspension the other night against the Boston Bruins. Chad Ruhwedel got things started for the Penguins, scoring his fourth of the season. Sidney Crosby would tally next, earning his 30th goal of the year. Vrana scored for the Red Wings to cut Pittsburgh’s lead in half with a power-play tally. Rasmussen tied things up, 2-2, with a goal only 17 seconds into the 2nd period. Then, the Penguins took flight. Rickard Rakell scored his 20th of the season to make it 3-2 in favor of the visitors. Then, Kris Letang added his 9th goal of the season. Evgeni Malkin scored a power-play goal after it was reviewed by the officials and deemed to be a good goal. Danton Heinen earned his 18th of the season after that, and Evgeni Malkin scored again with only 26 seconds remaining in the game to bring the score to 7-2.
